Tantalum is an extremly rare metal with atomic number 73. The annual tantalum world production is just a few hundered tons, compared to almost 3900 tons of gold. It has several industrial uses, mainly in electrotechnology and medicine. Tantalum has a very high melting point (3017 °C), after tungsten and rhenium the third highest of all metals. Tantalum carbide has a melting point of 3993 °C, one of the highest melting points of all known substances. Below 4.3 °K tantalum becomes a superconductor. Pure tantalum is a very chemically resistant metal, extremely stable against corrosion and all kinds of acids, even aqua regia. The tantalum bar is laser engraved with some chemical data about Tantalum. Shipping costs are 6.99 Euro within Germany, 16.49 Euro with the EU and Switzerland, and 24.99 Euro worldwide. For multiple purchases we combine shipping.
